Review Guidelines

    Manuscript Review Process (Revised after the Editorial Board meeting held on Sep. 29, 2020)

1. The Journal invites experts and scholars from research areas related to Taiwan Literary Studies to serve as reviewers.
2. Based on the research content of each manuscript, the editor-in-chief consults with the Editorial Board, which is comprised of editorial members from relevant fields, to select a panel of reviewers. The list of names is kept confidential.
3. Each manuscript undergoes a two-stage review process, involving the assessment by two to three independent experts and scholars. The reviewers can recommend that the manuscript be accepted for publication  without revisions, accepted with revisions, or rejected. Based on the review results, the editor-in-chief convenes a meeting with the Editorial Board to make a final decision regarding publication.

Guidelines for the Establishment of the Journal of Taiwan Literary Studies Editorial Board

1. The National Museum of Taiwan Literature (hereinafter referred to as “the Museum”) has established the Editorial Board for the Journal of Taiwan Literary Studies (hereinafter referred to as “the Editorial Board”) to encourage academic research, promote international academic exchange, and enhance the academic quality of the Journal of Taiwan Literary Studies.
2. The Editorial Board consists of seven to eleven editorial board members, all of whom are appointed by the Museum and are experts and scholars, both domestic and international, in the field of Taiwanese literature. They serve without remuneration.
3. Editorial board members shall serve a two-year term and may be reappointed for one additional term.
4. The Editorial Board is responsible for the following: (a) formulating editorial policies for the journal, (b) planning special issues and inviting submissions, (c) organizing academic reviews, (d) supervising the editorial process, and (e) handling other editorial-related matters.
5. The Editorial Board elects one editor-in-chief from among the editorial board members, and may also appoint three to seven advisory committee members.
6. The Editorial Board shall hold at least one editorial meeting before the publication of each issue to review the manuscripts and decide which articles to publish.
7. The editorial meetings are convened and chaired by the editor-in-chief. If the editor-in-chief is absent, the editorial members shall mutually elect a chairperson.
8. These establishment guidelines shall be implemented upon approval by the Museum’s administrative meeting and may be revised as necessary.
