2016 commemorates 400 years after the death of William Shakespeare, and before anniversaries kick off globally, National Museum of Taiwan Literature cooperates with SBT (The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust,) through the British Council’s introduction and facilitation, to present All the World’s a Stage: Shakespeare in Taiwan Exhibition which contains Shakespeare’s works in his lifetime and his legacy which shows the influence of Shakespeare, his life and the style of his works; at the same time, this exhibition entrusts Taiwan Shakespeare Association with exhibition curation and academic events. Combining related scholarly research with theatre practices in Taiwan, the exhibition shows the capability of the academic research of Shakespeare and the current publications in Taiwan. Through displaying Taiwanese performing costumes, stage stills, props and the artists, scholars and writers sharing their experiences with Shakespeare, the exhibition presents a bright achievement in Taiwan toward the researches of Shakespeare’s works.
