“Li” Poetry Society was established in 1964 and at the same time, started publishing Li bimonthly. Since then, for 50 years, the Society has published more than three hundred issues and never missed a deadline or been interrupted. The publication of the bimonthly, like a long trickling stream meandering across the land and the rivers of Taiwan, has witnessed the postwar development of Taiwan literature, and meanwhile, it became an important landscape and trajectory in the poetry history of Taiwan. In the poems published in Li, it is visible that the distinct historical consciousness and critical spirit they commonly have created a sense of cohesion and staunch collective character of the Poetry Society, resulting in Li’s unique style and characteristics standing out in poets circle after World War II.
The special exhibition presents the audience: 1. Li Chronology (including important contents and the chronicle of significant events); 2. Li Coterie’s Manuscripts; 3. Poetry Anthologies (first anthology or representative anthologies); 4. Important Activity Images; 5. Li Coterie’s Translated Works and the Materials of International Exchange; 6. Partial Collection of Li bimonthly and Important Anthologies and treatises, etc., to demonstrate Li’s continuing accumulation of fruitful achievements for half a century in the poetry garden of Taiwan.
