History is a record of the past events and actions of human beings. It is, accordingly, a particular kind of writing. Literature, as a special format of writing, is an expression of the writer's unique opinions and literary talent, with subject matter often being drawn from historical events, paired with commentary, as well as expressions of sentiment, and sometimes critique. It is an alternative format in the documentation of history, affecting the understanding and emotions of future generations. This special exhibition is structured around pivotal historical events in Taiwan. The museum's collection of cultural relics received through donations is being featured, including writers' manuscripts, rare publications, and periodicals, in which some dignitaries were being praised, while some other villainous officials and authorities were being critiqued. In the literary realm, the presentation of time does not follow a linear pattern: rather, charts through happenings like curves that twist and turn.
