從《膜》、《蒙馬特遺書》到《房思琪的初戀樂園》，談臺灣多元性別文學如何走向世界
從2014 年開始，由Ari Larissa Heinrich (韓瑞)英譯邱妙津的《蒙馬特遺書》起，臺灣多元性別文學英譯的出版不再只發行自大學、學術出版社；2020年時，紀大偉的酷兒科幻小說《膜》於英語界問世，帶動了臺灣酷兒文學在國際文壇的風氣，也藉由2021年與亞裔作家Ariel Chu於美國亞裔工作坊 (Asian American Writers’ Workshop) 共同推出的Queer Time: A Special Notebook of Taiwanese Tongzhi Literature 英譯選集，收入臺灣十位酷兒文學作家的作品。「酷兒」、「女性主義」、「性別多元化主義」本身不只是與性別相關論述的突破，也是一個超越字面意義，追求自由與認同的一個轉折點：我們討論的不只是性別與性向的多元性，也可以是文學轉譯在語言上的選擇、突破與創新，而這樣的創新，又是如何被譯者以自己的語言創意呈現？
這次活動邀請紀大偉、遠自澳洲的譯者韓瑞，以及譯者Jenna Tang 一起為主題做深入演講。活動首先會請紀大偉與韓瑞回顧《膜》從英文版剛問世，一直到書籍被翻譯成其他多種語言在世界各地所得到的不同迴響，以及和讀者、國際出版人共同討論書中主題所最難忘的片段；接下來，將由焦點轉向韓瑞及譯者Jenna Tang，共同討論身為英文譯者推出臺灣文學英譯創作的經驗，包括邱妙津的《蒙馬特遺書》及林奕含的《房思琪的初戀樂園》在英譯出版路上所擁有的不同經歷：從與原作相遇、到與作者互動，一直到投稿 (pitching) 與英語界出版社接觸、並以譯者的身份外推作品所遇到的奇聞軼事，一路走到書籍正式出版問世的歷程，以及和海外讀者互動的有趣過程。
除了在海外推廣翻譯文學，譯者自身的養成，受各自生活、語言環境的影響有哪些？三位講者也將談及譯者經驗，以及國內獨立書店與文學場域的脈動對推廣臺灣文學的重要性。另外，譯者與作者該如何建立健康的合作界線？從翻譯到外推的過程中，會遇到什麼挑戰？而至今各譯者於不同文化環境缺乏的實質資源有什麼？臺灣讀者及文學界，可以給予作家、譯者的支持與合作，還可以包含什麼樣的資源及對話？國際上其他語言在性別多元主題相關的文學創作與影視作品，涵蓋了哪些創作者與靈魂？
本次活動將探討三位創作者在未來《同志文學史》英譯版共同的合作。臺灣同志文學涵蓋的不只是眾多位作家跨時代的影響，也包括臺北等地保有多元性別文學的足跡點、過往到現在不同出版刊物對文學所做的突破，及不同時代對自由的轉型與定義。文學的存在與價值也倚靠電影、影視、藝術等不同的表演與展出形式互相呼應，藉由本書所追尋的脈絡，三位將共同討論對臺灣文學引薦到國際所抱有的展望，以及跨界不同藝術領域可以共同打造的對話與合作；活動結尾將由三位分享各自對創作、翻譯，以及國際上的連結本身最重視的感官價值及創造社群與歸屬感的方式。
講者簡介About Our Speakers
紀大偉，科幻作家、同志研究學者。美國加州大學洛杉磯分校（UCLA）比較文學博士，國立政治大學台灣文學研究所副教授。他的科幻小說《膜》英文版（韓瑞教授譯）獲《紐約時報》推薦為賽博龐克經典代表作。《膜》目前已有日、法、英、韓、義、西、葡、丹、芬、捷等十種譯本。科幻小說集《珍珠》則已在法國出版。2026年，他與台裔美國作家 Ariel Chu 共同策劃並編輯「亞裔美國作家工作坊」專輯 〈酷兒時間：台灣同志文學筆記本〉，邀集多位台灣同志文學作家，並媒合新生代中譯英譯者，以中英對照形式向英語世界介紹這批青壯代作家的代表作。他的學術專書《同志文學史》目前正由三組翻譯團隊翻譯為英文、日文與韓文版。
Chi Ta-wei (he/him) is a sci-fi writer and queer studies scholar. He received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from UCLA and is an Associate Professor of Taiwanese Literature at National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan.
His novel The Membranes was recommended by Chloe Gong in The New York Times as a landmark work of cyberpunk. Originally published in Chinese, the novel has been translated into Korean, Japanese, French, English, Italian, Danish, Finnish, Spanish, Portuguese, and Czech. Its English edition, translated by Ari Heinrich, has been recommended by numerous independent bookstores across the U.S. His speculative fiction collection, The Pearls, is published in France.
In 2021, he and Ariel Chu co-edited "Queer Time: A Special Notebook of Taiwanese Tongzhi Literature" for the Asian American Writers' Workshop (AAWW). The special issue introduced Taiwanese queer literature to English-language readers by pairing young Taiwanese writers with a new generation of translators, presenting the original Chinese texts alongside their English translations.
His scholarly monograph A History of Tongzhi Literature is currently being translated into English, Japanese, and Korean.
韓瑞（Ari Heinrich）的研究聚焦於跨國視覺文化，特別關注華人的種族主義之形成、身體的醫學再現，以及當代藝術中生物材料的運用。韓瑞亦翻譯過邱妙津的《蒙馬特遺書》、紀大偉的《膜》。對臺灣及華語酷兒研究有所貢獻。
韓瑞獲得哈佛大學文學碩士（A.M.）學位，並於加州大學柏克萊分校取得博士學位，現任澳洲國立大學（ANU）中國文化研究教授，同時擔任澳洲國立大學中華全球研究中心（Centre on China in the World）藝廊主任。
韓瑞曾於各地發表演講，主題涵蓋解剖學插圖的歷史，以及國際巡迴商業人體標本展覽背後種族與種族主義的政治經濟學。目前正撰寫一本探討藝術家范加 (Jes Fan) 作品中黑色素（melanin）的專書。
Ari Heinrich (韓瑞) writes on transnational visual cultures, with particular interests in the origins of anti-Chinese racism, medical representations of the body, and the use of biological materials in contemporary art. Ari has also translated works of queer literature from Taiwan and has made contributions to queer Sinophone studies.
Ari received an AM from Harvard University and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and are currently a Professor of Chinese Cultural Studies at the ANU. They are also Director of the Gallery at the ANU’s Centre on China in the World.
They have lectured widely on topics ranging from the history of anatomical illustration to the political economy of race and racism underlying internationally circulating exhibitions of Chinese cadavers in commercial anatomical displays. They are currently working on a book on the pigment melanin in the art of Jes Fan.
Jenna Tang
紐約The New School 創意寫作系碩士畢業，台灣駐紐約的作家與譯者。目前從事中、英、西、法文相關文學及其他領域的筆譯、口譯，時不時會駐紮在秘魯、阿根廷、哥倫比亞、墨西哥等拉丁美洲國家。現任美國文學翻譯協會董事委員及性別與種族平等委員會長。曾經與臺灣作家吳明益、紀大偉、林奕含、劉芷妤、甘耀明、張郅忻等人合作，2024五月於美國、加拿大等國家發表了《房思琪的初戀樂園》英文版、2024年十一月於英國Strangers Press 發表了劉芷妤的〈別人的孩子〉。英文譯作及創作曾發表於 The Paris Review、Lit Hub、Fare Magazine、AAWW、McSweeney’s, Catapult、World Literature Today、Words Without Borders。曾經帶過《房》書到美加等地超過22個城市巡迴，現在專心致力於提倡客語及原住民文學。
Jenna Tang (She/her) is a Hakka Taiwanese writer and translator who translates between Hakka, Mandarin, French, Latin American Spanish, and English. Her translations include works by feminist authors, including Lin Yi-Han’s Fang Si-Chi’s First Love Paradise, Lâu Tsí-û’s “Not Your Child,” and more. She was awarded an honorable mention by the Baifang Schell Book Prize in 2025. Her essays and translations have been published in The Paris Review, Lit Hub, World Literature Today, McSweeney’s, Catapult, AAWW, Fare Magazine, and elsewhere. She has taught translation and writing workshops and has given talks on gender movements across more than 22 universities in the United States, Canada, China, Australia, and Taiwan. For years, she has been advocating for languages preserved through oral tradition, such as Hakka and various Taiwanese Indigenous languages, hoping that each language will find its home across the world or when it returns to where it belongs.
