Registration Closing Soon|2025 Taiwan Literature Translation and Publishing International Forum & Dialogue on Taiwan’s Indigenous Literature in Translation
When a literary work appears in another language, translators, editors, and publishers collectively reshape their afterlives.
This November, they will convene in Tainan to share firsthand perspectives on translation practice, publishing trends, and pathways for translator’s careers.
Three panels form a sustained conversation across languages and professions.
📚 Panel I: The Working Landscape of Contemporary Translators —
Observations on the Translation of Taiwan Literature
Translators from Korea, Japan, and Poland will gather to examine how Taiwan literature is received in the Korean market,
how Japanese readers engage with Indigenous Taiwanese writing,
and how the Polish publishing ecosystem establishes networks for translators.
Their accounts reveal how see how Taiwan literature continue to thrive across distinct cultural contexts.

will share insights into how Asian literature is received in European markets and explore strategies for building sustainable publishing collaborations amid digital change and evolving reading habits.

Three days after the main forum, the event moves to Just Art Space in Taitung, where writers Sun Ta-chuan (Paelabang Danapan) and Badai,
together with Japanese translator Uozumi Etsuko, will explore how Taiwan’s Indigenous literature crosses linguistic borders,
conveying the landscape, memories, and aesthetics
that define its cultural landscape.
