NMTL's Children's Literature Reading
Room, a part of the museum that
is extremely popular with families, will be reopened on December 6, welcoming
children with a new look, improved reading environment and a series of
educational activities.
On the day of reopening,
NMTL will stage the "Looking for the flute player" children's drama and "Booky's
Super Mission" family fun activity. "Reopening souvenirs" can also be taken
home by visitors.
In coordination with the
refurbishing of the Children's Literature Reading
Room and NMTL's Listening to the Sea
Melody through the Woods: Literary Works of Lin Hai-Yin exhibition, the Children's
Literature Reading Room has
specially planned "Stories from childhood-Lin Hai-yin's children's literature book
exhibition and activity series", with activities including "Big ear and little
ear listen to a story", "Big hand little hand creative DIY" and other educational
activities with Lin Hai-yin's works as the main theme. The aim of the activity
series is to stimulate interest in reading and attract people to the Children's
Literature Reading Room to take advantage
of the all-new reading space.
NMTL's Children's
Literature Reading Room has been
popular with families for a long period of time. Its extensive specialized
children's book collection has been widely praised and its children's book
exhibitions and story-telling activities have also attracted large numbers of visitors
to the museum.
As most of the users of
the Children's Literature Reading Room
are parents and children, to increase the space's functions and improve
lighting, improvement work was carried out by the museum, using the safest non-toxic
building materials, to increase the safety of the space, its usability and convenience.
Woodwork design and manufacturing (including the adjustment of display cabinets)
also took ergonomics and environmental safety into account. As for spatial
lighting adjustment, lighting of the whole space was improved to better meet
reading needs. The number of children's literature books will be gradually
increased in the future.
NMTL's Children's Literature Reading Room will soon enter its sixth year. The NMTL's diligent cultivation
of this educational space over this period has encouraged many children to take
an interest in literature. An
additional family area has been set
aside in the reading room, separating children's books from other books and
providing a safe and pleasant reading environment for pre-school children and
their parents. The aim of the refurbishing is to provide a better quality
and more comfortable reading space and welcome little readers with a whole new look.
On December 6 don't
forget to join Booky in experiencing the newly refurbished Children's
Literature Reading Room. All children who visit NMTL on the reopening day can
participate in "Happy Reopening" and take home an attractive souvenir and
postcards, complete a questionnaire and also receive exclusive Children's
Literature Reading Room's stickers.
